</div><div class="MsoNormal">Car-May is excited to report back with lots of good news from the annual ACS show. We were pleasantly surprised with a great turn out and lots of foot traffic through the booth this year.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Some exciting things that went on this year at the show include the launch of our newly updated products with fully integrated touch screens, heated manifolds, Hasteloy Manifolds for corrosive environments, and our biggest product launch of our new product package that demonstrates continuous flow reactor systems.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>This system included two of the Car-May NovaSync systems, micro-flow reactor, pressure sensors and chiller all for less then half of most competitor packages. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Soon to come will be pictures and demonstrations of these new and updated products. One way this has been done is the annealing of the plastics and metals that are used to build the pump heads and systems. This is very important for increased strength and resistance towards chemical corrosion. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">What is Annealing?</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Annealing is the process of a heat treatment of certain types of materials including certain plastics and metals. This process is a heat treatment wherein a material is altered, causing changes in its properties such a strength and hardness. This procedure is done by heating the material to the recrytallization temperature, and then maintaining a suitable temperature, followed by a slow cooling process that does not warp or stress the material further. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />

</div><div class="MsoNormal">An example of this would be the annealing of the polycarbonate and PEEK manifolds used on the Car-May pumps. This increases resistance to chemicals and stress cracking and crazing. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />

The Hastelloy manifold is highly resistant to a variety of aggressive chemicals, at elevated temperatures, that are used by the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries. This is very important for the life span of our products. This new manifold also includes an integrated heating ability using two 50-watt hearing elements to prevent precipitation of saturated solutions. This temperature is controlled by a precision RTD (resistive temperature device) sensor. <o:p></o:p></span></b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;"><br />
